Particularities

Interior design with classics from the 50s combined with contemporary elements

Description

Right in the centre of Basel, we have planned and built a practice for general and visceral surgery on an area of 220 m². The practice is located in a building from the 1950s.

listed building directly on the market square. Our aim was to design rooms for this practice that would give patients a feeling of well-being. That was also the client's wish.

Particularities

The style of the interior design is characterized by the existing ceiling, which has an industrial character, as well as a furniture design concept with classics from Vitra.

The waiting area in particular, where patients spend time before their examination, conveys a very pleasant and calm atmosphere. Here, we also decided to use wallpaper from the company and a carpet from Jab Anstoetz to create a living room character.

Another special feature is the construction of the ceiling, where we used baffles made of recycled PET to emphasize the supporting structure.

The sophisticated lighting concept was accentuated with Cloud lamps from Belux and surface-mounted spotlights from Linea light.

The reception area is made of a structured white surface in combination with walnut wood elements, similar to the desks in the examination rooms.
